TIFF JOINS THE LIVING ROOM TEAM

Meet Priscilla and Scott. They love soft drinks, sugar in their coffees, sugary fruit juice and energy drinks to keep them energised at work and looking after twins.

I set out to help them lose weight, not by changing what they do (exercise) or eat (food) but by making a simple swap with what they drink - subing out sugar for water.

Scott was having over seven teaspoons of sugar a day in his coffee equating to 2.7kg of sugar in just one month! You can see the tower of white sugar pictured above.

If you add a can of soft drink a day, plus the sugar in his coffee, that equates to over 336 jellybeans worth of sugar in just seven days.

Scott and Priscilla lost over 7kg in three weeks with one simple swap, and you can too!

WHY DO THIS?
The idea is not to drink your calories but to eat them (cos we all know eating speeds up the good ‘ol metabolism through the processes of digestion as drinking our calories does not). 70% of the body is water, and water acts as a natural appetite suppressant. It also helps to regulate your metabolism. Your metabolism increases by 30 percent after drinking 2 cups of water (Wowa!). When you become dehydrated, your metabolism slows down, affecting how your body burns fat.
